In the late 90s I brought about 15 kids up to KTD from the psychiatric treatment school that I worked at in Albany.

The kids got a tour of the Monastery and the grounds.

When they were done with the tour they decided to sit on the lawn by the old house and eat lunch.

As they were eating, Khenpo Karthar was walking nearby, he came and blessed the kids and then threw the football back and forth with a few of them.

Years later I ran into one of the students that came that day, he asked about KKR and the Karmapa and told me that he never forgot the day he came to KTD.

I wish I had a picture but it all happened too spontaneously….
