He Would Disappear and Reappear.

As we approach the commemoration of the 39th anniversary of the passing of His Holiness the 16th Karmapa and the 1st anniversary of the passing of Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche, the connection between these two amazing masters is illustrated by this beautiful story …

Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche:

“The only thing that I ever saw that was extraordinary [about The 16th Karmapa] was that occasionally when I would be speaking to him, he would disappear and reappear.

He would be sitting in an armchair and I would be looking at him and talking to him.

All of a sudden, I would find myself looking right through him. He was not there in the armchair although he was still talking and I was still listening. Then he would reappear.”

[Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche was only shown this photo taken of The 16th Karmapa after he taught this and he said he had never seen it before.]
