A TRIBUTE TO THE GREAT MASTER

Remembering Rinpoche

THOSE WHO had the good fortune to have met Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche know that our beloved abbot and teacher was, and is, a fountain of benefit for all sentient beings. He continues to benefit us through his many years of teachings, of course, but also through his loving smile, compassionate heart and continual demonstration of the Bodhisattva’s way of life. Few who came into his presence were not deeply moved by his love for all the sentient beings in his care.

With this tribute site we bring the master to our mind, over and over again, so that we remain continually in his presence. As you view the material on this site, please consider if you might also have something you would like to share as we all remember the amazing Khabje Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche.

Once I had a dream that the translator didn’t show up, so Rinpoche just taught in English. In the dream, it was just pouring out of him effortlessly and we were all amazed…

Amy Schwartz, Senior Student

And my experience is that I am, and all Rinpoche’s students are, engulfed in Rinpoche’s wake, caught in his slipstream, so to speak. I can feel it, and it is not something I deserved (to my knowledge). As students, we are in his mandala, and will be swept up and along with wherever Rinpoche goes or points.

Michael Erlewine, Founder of Heart Center KTC

Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche was one of a kind – clearly an awakened being.

Patrice Wooldridge, Senior Student

He had the wisdom and compassion of a Buddha, the joy of a child, and a great sense of humor

MaryAnn Duncan, Student

The last thing he said to me was “ You are never done crying.” I will never forget his wisdom and kind words.
