Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche and Thrangu Rinpoche
Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche shared a special relationship with Khenchen Thrangu Rinpoche. Khenpo Rinpoche was about 15 years older than Thrangu Rinpoche and was Thrangu Rinpoche’s study attendant when Thrangu Rinpoche was young. Stories of their friendship could fill books.

2004 Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche photos – Qinghai Trip 堪布卡塔仁波切相冊﹣青海行
In 2004, Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche led a group of western and eastern students to the Thrangu Monastery in Qing Hai, China, and participated in the inauguration of the newly rebuilt monastery. On the return trip, he visited the Wu Tai Mountain, a holy place of Manjushri, and paid homage to the Buddha’s relic in Beijing.

In June of 2018, the Gyalwang Karmapa presided over the long-life puja called “The Citadel of Indestructible Vajra Life: A Long-Life Offering of the Three Roots Combined in the Karma Kamtsang Tradition” for Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche at KTD Monastery.
